DNS Instructions for Adding a Domain Alias to your Zimbra Account
Once your Domain Alias has been setup on the network you will need to take the following steps:
1. Verify that the domains have been added within your Control Panel correctly. (e.g. ensure no misspelling)
2. Zimbra: Modify Your DNS Records to the following:
You will need to contact your DNS hosting company and ask them to change your MX records and also add a SPF Record.
Your DNS hosting company is usually your Registrar; where you purchased your domain, or the company that hosts your web site. If you are not aware of who hosts your DNS zone file, we recommend contacting the company hosting your web site.
Changing Your MX Records
You will need to change your MX records to reflect the following values:
customerdomain.mf.rp.securembox.com
customerdomain.mg.rp.securembox.com
customerdomain.mh.rp.securembox.com
customerdomain.mi.rp.securembox.com
Note: For ‘customerdomain’ you should enter the primary domain for your account. For example, if your primary domain is ‘domain.com’, your first MX record will be ‘domain.com.mf.rp.securembox.com’.
Please ensure that ALL domain aliases are adjusted to reflect the updated settings.
Changing Your SPF Record
yourdomain.com IN TXT "v=spf1 include:_spf.zimbraservice.com ~all"
When creating new accounts or aliases with this new domain please remember the 0-60 minute synchronization time with the spam filtering system. As soon as each new email address synchronizes with spam filter, you will be able to receive mail from outside of our network successfully.
